Ex-Marine receives double arm transplant 6 years after he lost all his limbs

John Peck (31) received double arm transplant in August in Boston hospital, It came 6 years after he lost all his limbs, stepped on an IED in Afghanistan.

He was put on the transplant list in 2014, had 14-hour surgery this year,Peck says he is excited to hold his fiancee’s hand and train to be a chef.

His arms are scarred and move awkwardly but his doctors say he is making progress and they expect nine to 12 months of rehabilitation.

Speaking publicly for the first time since his surgery at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Peck said the best things about it all is that he can hold his fiancee’s hand again.
