This Case Let’s You Run Android On iPhone

For the longest time, both Apple and Google loyalists have imagined what it might be like to run Android on iPhone hardware.

Now, thanks to a Chinese manufacturer, the dream is somewhat of a reality.

The Mesuit hardware case, from Haimawan, features a skinned version of the Android Marshmallow operating system that is accessible through a custom app.

The combination, according to the manufacturer, allows dual-booting of an iPhone just by tapping an app icon.

According to a press release (via The Verge) the technology “leverages the home device’s dual-SIM, dual-standby features to offer users with simultaneous access to all functionalities of the two types of smartphones.”

The company says that it lessens the need for users to own two smartphones, but how well it all works remains to be seen.

As a bonus, the Mesuit case also offers an external battery pack that offers a 7-hour talktime boost, as well as an additional 16GB of storage space and an additional Nano SIM slot.

The case, which is compatible with the iPhone 6/6s and iPhone 6/6s Plus, is available to buy in China now from around £110. No news yet on whether you’ll be able to buy it elsewhere.
