With the right shoes highlighter, a girl can conquer the world. Shimmery cheeks are stealing the spotlight right now (next time, matte), so we HAD to ask our go-to gal, professional makeup artist Alana Dawn, how to get the look. Turns out, it’s as simple as 1-2-3 … (OK, 4). Just grab a fan brush, your ideal Lumi shade and get to strobing!

Step 1. Apply your fave foundation all over skin and follow with a brightening concealer underneath the eyes. Use a concealer that’s two shades darker than your natural skin tone to contour cheekbones.

Step 2. To keep makeup in place all day, apply a translucent setting powder under eyes and along your nose, forehead and chin.
Step 3. Grab a highlighting powder (based on your skin tone) and apply to the highest part of your cheekbones. You can either use a fan brush like the NYX Pro Fan Brush or a smaller brush like the Urban Decay UD Pro Diffusing Highlighter Brush for a more precise application when highlighting down the bridge of your nose.
Step 4. Using either your forefinger (or a brush that mimics the same control but with stippling powers), dust the same highlighter along your lids — concentrating on the inner corners — and along your brow bone. 

ProTip: Use a nude liner on your waterline to really make your eyes look wide awake!
As a final touch, apply more (YES, more!) highlighter along your upper cheekbones and blend.
