Alleged iPhone 7 Pricing Reveals 256GB Model and ‘Pro’ Variant

We’re still a ways away from Apple announcing the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, or whatever they end up calling the new phones, but a new leak suggests to show the pricing of those upcoming devices. And a Pro model, too.
Over on the Chinese social network Weibo, what is said to be the upcoming price points for future iPhone models has found its way online. Keep in mind that none of this is official by any means, but if it is indeed true then there won’t actually be any huge shifts in pricing — but instead with available storage models.
According to the leak, there will indeed be a new 256GB model, something that’s been rumored recently. But the better news here is that if the pricing is accurate, that new model, with twice the storage offered by the 126GB model (the current top-tier iPhone variant), will be priced quite similarly. That would suggest that the 256GB model will replace the 128GB model altogether, leaving only a 64GB and 32GB variant to fill out the rest of the lines.
Of course, it’s worth noting that we’ve seen a component part suggesting the iPhone 7 will offer a 16GB option, but that a conflicting report suggested a 32GB model would be the new baseline for this year’s iPhone lineup.
If the pricing breakdown is real, then the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and the iPhone 7 Pro will feature 32GB, 64GB, and 256GB storage options.
Yes, this leak does suggest that there will indeed be an iPhone 7 Pro. That would mean it would sit at the top of the pyramid of new iPhones, with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus probably seeing fewer features than what’s available on the Pro model. Indeed, this is something that we’ve heard in the past, most recently with leaked schematics reportedly showing off the Pro model.
The pricing suggests that the iPhone 7 Pro would be priced almost $150 more than the iPhone 7 Plus, so if it’s true there must be something there that Apple believes it could charge a hefty premium for. For those keeping up with the Rumor Mill, it has been suggested in the past that the iPhone 7 Pro will be the upcoming iPhone that boasts a dual-camera setup, and not the iPhone 7 Plus. Would a dual-camera design warrant a price hike like that?
As is usual for this time of year there’s a lot of back-and-forth regarding what Apple may or may not do with its upcoming iPhone lineup. It will be interesting to see if there is indeed an iPhone 7 Pro model, if only to see how Apple differentiates three different iPhones instead of just two.
